Martial Arts - Kids and Adults (ages 9 and up)
The founder of the dojo, Sensei Cory Albert, has over 38 years of training and has been running his school for 27 years. Sensei Albert has his black belt in Chinese Kempo, which included training in Ju-jitsu (grappling) and Kali (Filipino stick, knife, and empty-hand art).
In 1996, Sensei Albert began his study of Japanese swordsmanship, and he instructs students with the wooden sword (bokken) as part of their regular training at the dojo. Sensei Albert has also traveled to Japan several times to study Zen and Zazen (meditation) at the Jotoku-ji Zen temple in Kameoka, Japan.
At Unified Martial Arts Academy, you will learn the fast and effective techniques of Kempo with the controlling techniques and ground-fighting of Ju-jitsu. Weapons are taught to improve overall coordination, speed, and awareness.
For 27 years, Sensei Albert has taught every class, giving personal attention to each student. You will not find this at every school.
All belt levels train together in small classes, with the higher belts there to learn from and help out the beginners.
When looking for martial arts training, take the time to observe classes at several schools and compare. Although it may be convenient to choose the one closest to you, a good school is worth the drive. You'll know a good school if it is a dojo first and a business second. Unified Martial Arts Academy promises no contracts and no belt testing fees.
It's all about the training.
The training at Unified Martial Arts Academy is both fun and rewarding! There's nothing like bowing at the doorway as you leave, sweat dripping to the floor, and a big smile on your face from doing your best!
New students can start anytime. Come check out the training! No appointment necessary.
